Travel Abroad

In light of our school’s mission to develop well rounded students with exposure and access, every year our 8^th grade seniors choose an international destination to embark for a travel abroad program. Families and teachers join our seniors on this learning experience.

The 7^th Trip (2019-2020 school year) for CSE’s Travel Abroad Program will be to Tanzania.

Day 1: Thursday, April 9^th

• Arrival at Dar es Salaam
• Transport to city center
• Afternoon at leisure

Day 2: Friday, April 10^th

• Full day tour of Dar Es Salaam
  • City Center, Askaris Monument
  • Azania Church
  • Kivukoni Fish Market and National Museum (arch. items and human fossils, traditional items)
  • Kariakoo Market and Mnazi Moja Park
  • Mwenge Carvings Market
  • Ngoma – drumming and dancing performances

Day 3: Saturday, April 11^th (Dar / Arusha / Lake Manyara)

• 2 hour flight to Arusha
• Game drive in Lake Manyara National Park
• Canopy walk
• Drive to Karatu

Day 4: Sunday, April 12^th (Karatu)

• Local school visit in Karatu
• Afternoon at leisure

Day 5: Monday, April 13^th (Karatu/Ngorongoro)

• Ngorongoro Conservation Area (with packed lunch)
• Olduvai Gorge excursion with archaeological discoveries

Day 6: Tuesday, April 14^th (Ngorongoro)

• Full day crater tour at Ngorongoro Conservation Area
• Bush Lunch

Day 7: Wednesday, April 154^th (Ngorongoro / Monduli Juu / Arusha)

• Full day at Maasai village with cultural goat slaughter and dances
• Drive to Arusha

Day 8: Thursday, April 16^th (Arusha / Moshi)

• Moshi for materuni village visit
• Farewell dinner

Day 9: Friday, April 17^th (Arusha / Kilimanjaro Airport)
